In the past few years, a number of other upscale eateries have closed their doors, including Araxi Restaurant + Bar, Bearfoot Bistro, and Quattro at Whistler. Ramsay’s restaurant was not the only casualty of the competitive Whistler dining scene. As a result, competition for customers is fierce and many restaurants are forced to rely on tourists for the majority of their business. While Whistler is a popular destination for both skiers and non-skiers alike, the town has a limited number of luxury hotels and restaurants. The closure of Ramsay’s restaurant in Whistler is just one example of the challenges faced by high-end restaurants in resort towns.
